Medium Fade Haircut

Medium Fade HaircutWe are very excited to release our newest video: The Medium Fade Haircut with a longer textured top. Anytime you are leaving a longer top and cutting the sides very close it can be very challenging. Some of the important things to remember are not to fade higher than the widest point of the head and make sure the blending area is never higher than the front length. These are the two most important instructions in providing a balanced medium fade or any fade for that matter.

Men’s Classic Taper – Part 4

In this 4 part blog series you will learn how to create the men’s classic tapered haircut the easy way. I have been saying throughout my whole career that if you do not put a line in you don’t have to blend it out. Basically, you are cutting out the blending step which causes the most amount of work, stress, and anxiety.

Men’s Classic Taper – Part 4: The Final Touch Up

At this point you will be amazed at how little cutting and blending there is left to do. There are two key points I would like you to take away from this blog series. First, by starting on the top and removing the bulk first you will not lose sight of your cutting blade and the clipper will move through the hair with ease without creating a heavy weight line or line of demarcation, Second, using a detachable blade clipper with the 1 1/2 blade for blending is in my opinion the best tool for touching up the blend. Running the tip of the blade over the comb in the blend area a couple of times will remove any small lines of demarcation you may have left.

I sincerely hope you find these short videos and instructions helpful in creating the perfect blend for your next men’s classic taper.

Men’s Classic Taper – Part 3 – Cut To The Guide But Do Not Cut Your Guide

When working with your guide you never want to cut into it. You want to cut to the guide and then slowly roll the clipper away from the scalp creating a natural blend without leaving a heavy weight line. This will leave you with minimal if any blending to complete. In other words removing the most difficult step from the haircut.

Men’s Classic Taper – Part 2 – Create Your Guide

This is one of the most talked about and debated topics when it comes to cutting men’s hair cutting and fading. The easiest way to blend men’s hair is to cut the top first and work your way down. The next step is to cut your guide at the round of the head area so you will have a guide to blend to.This is sometimes referred to as reverse blending. The idea is to remove the weight from the top first so you do not create a heavy weight line that you will have to blend out. When you cut the taper with the clipper in the next step it will move with ease through the hair and you will not loose sight of the cutting blade when you get to the blending area. This is what creates a smooth blend with less work.

I have been saying throughout my whole career that if you do not put a line in you don’t have to blend it out. Men’s Classic Taper – Part 1 – Start On The Top

By starting on the top first you will be removing length which will make the next step down that much easier. By the time you get to the clipper portion of the haircut you never want to lose sight of the cutting blade putting you in danger of cutting the sides too high. The clipper will flow through the hair much easier and you will leave a natural blend and just about eliminate any blending from the sides and back section to the top section.
